The Challenge

The owner of Yours Clothing, AK Holdings, acquired Long Tall Sally on 19th August 2020.

However, the brand's existing commerce platform, based on IBM WebSphere, was out-of-date and simply not powerful or flexible enough to support AK Holdings' post-acquisition growth ambitions.

As a result, the Yours Clothing management team factored replatforming to new platform into its acquisition timeline - it wanted to put the brand on a fast-track to growth, drawing on the latest digital commerce.

The Solution

The requirement to have the new platform and digital commerce presence tested and live prior to the acquisition deal completion meant the Remarkable team had just six weeks from order to deliver - a challenging timeline.

However, thanks to the flexibility and agility of the Remarkable Commerce Platform, as well as on demand access to deep technical expertise from the Remarkable team, the site was live with time to spare - minimising disruption to normal trading at a crucial time.

What's more, the ability to customise every aspect of the platform, coupled with easy integrations, powerful, intuitive merchandising, promotional and CMS tools and more, provided the brand with a solution closely tailored to its operational and strategic needs.

To support the Yours Clothing team to manage the LTS brand, the platform was built with a headless approach - meaning all data (product, orders, customers, stock, content) is sent from the Remarkable Commerce Platform admin to the LTS storefront using API's. This headless approach, where the frontend is disconnected from the backend, enables speed of innovation and high-levels of scaling.

Long Tall Sally was founded in London in 1976. It was one of the first high street brands to offer clothing and shoes designed for tall women 5′8″ and over. The business announced it was closing and winding down operations in August 2020. On 19th August it was acquired by AK Holdings Ltd.
