Overview
Evans was founded in 1930 by the manufacturer Jack Green, and after 40 years as a limited company, the Burton Group (later Arcadia Group) acquired Evans and it became a public company. Then in 2020, Arcadia entered administration and the following month, Australian fashion retailer City Chic Collective reached an agreement with Arcadia's administrators to purchase the Evans brand, website and wholesale business. Fast forward three years, and City Chic then sold Evans to the AK Retail Group, who are alslo owners of brands Yours Clothing, Long Tall Sally, M&Co, Bad Rhino, Pixie Girl.
The challenge
Typically, with brand acquisition situations, a replatforming project has a very tight timeline and the new storefront is required as quickly as possible. This was the situation for the Evans replatform project too, where a replacement website was required within weeks.

Fully integrated with the Remarkable WMS, and connected with the other Yours Clothing group brands, Evans is now operated efficiently and effectively. The shipping options match the other brands and orders are managed in the same process, allowing the group to offer great shipping and returns options from launch.
API First
The platform’s headless, API-first architecture has accelerated the trading and performance for Evans - streamlining marketplace integration, payment method expansion and the launch of a feature-rich mobile app, relying on a stable and fast API library.
