The Brunts Academy, part of The Evolve Trust, is a Mansfield community academy with around 1500 Students, including 200 Six Formers and 150 Staff. The school itself was founded in 1709 and joined The Evolve Trust in 2013. The old school website had been constantly updated with new content for many years, but unfortunately this lead to a large number of pages and files within one another.
In late 2015, Remarkable Commerce were granted the opportunity to give the Academy a new online refresh. With a short turnaround set, Remarkable Commerce got cracking designing and developing the brand’s new site. The Evolve Trust’s brief stated they wished to develop a more corporate approach to marketing and communications, but were also looking to retain the strong branding of each school.
An improvement to usability was the main aim of this project, assessing all old data and pages, then moving all relevant information to new and correct locations within the site.
The new website needed to be easily accessible and user friendly for students, parents, formal users and potential future partner companies. Knowing the staff would be looking to update the site regularly with new content, Remarkable Commerce developed the site on WordPress so that going forward this process would be as easy and quick as possible.
Remarkable Commerce Front-end Developer Daniel Healey worked closely with the team at The Evolve Trust to design the new website skin and integrate with a back-end system that could be used by staff to publish and amend content on any page.
