The challenge

For many years Pragnell had been trading offline through their three UK showrooms, alongside a non-transaction website which drove a low amount of customer & product enquiries.

The previous Umbraco content-management platform was not considered ‘agile' and adding a commerce function to the platform was deemed risky and not flexible enough for Pragnell‘s ambitious digital plans.

As a luxury retailer, it was very important for Pragnell, one of the only family-owned, full-service jewellers in the UK, to evolve and be successful in the ever-changing digital commerce landscape of the 21st Century.

The solution: Remarkable Commerce Platform

A Remarkable partnership enabled a transition for Pragnell, to become a modern-day retailer. Within only a few months from order, the Remarkable Commerce team created a brand new trading platform for George Pragnell, and it was launched in June 2020.

The platform's headless architecture has enabled Pragnell to move towards omni-channel retailing - where in-store staff are connected to online customers.

Standout feature

Fine jewellery maker, George Pragnell has added to a suite of services that blur the lines between its online and physical stores with the launch of Loveletters, an innovative digital experience that enables customers to design and buy unique 18ct gold link bracelets. Available in-store via store assistant tablets or via George Pragnell's online store, the service instantly renders customers' designs in 3D as they select up to 20 links shaped like letters of the alphabet to spell out a name, mantra or secret message.

The challenge

The Loveletters service features an intuitive interface with rich 3D rendering and is tightly integrated with George Pragnell's customer and stock management systems to deliver a simple, seamless customer experience - all of which required significant, specialist expertise.

Despite that complexity, it was vital to launch the service in time to capitalise on Christmas sales, which meant all development would need to be completed within six weeks - an aggressive timescale made possible by Remarkable Commerce's headless commerce platform and in-house developer skills.

The Remarkable team built the interface, with UX input from Matter of Form, and all data integrations - including an API integration with 3D rendering provided by ThreeKit. Meanwhile the Remarkable Commerce Platform's headless architecture made surfacing the Loveletters service on staff tablets and customer facing web store straightforward, by eliminating the need to build separate interfaces.

What's more, the service is based on re-usable technology, which will allow George Pragnell to rapidly create similar digital experiences across other jewellery categories over time.

The solution

The Love Letters collection is a unique and personal way to create a piece of jewellery that is truly one of a kind.

Customers can also choose from white, yellow or rose gold, and elevate their creations by setting letters in diamond pavé.

Select up to 21 links shaped like letters of the alphabet to spell out a name, mantra or secret message.
