Established in 1957, the company’s success has grown significantly through the years.
Roman Originals designs, develops and manufactures its own range of Ladies’ clothing and accessories to over 150 outlets within the UK for a broad variety of customers.
Currently Roman Originals offer a wide range of popular products including everything from evening wear, wedding outfits, to casual wear and workwear, with a selection of swimwear updated seasonally. Introducing around 20 new lines per week in stores, Roman ensures it’s competitive advantage within the industry with a consistently up to date range of clothing. Romans use the highest quality fabrics and raw materials, ensuring that their clothing exceeds the needs of consumers by offering longevity through their products.
The Romans re-launch began in June 2016, taking around 3 months from start to finish and officially launched on the 21 st August 2016 – Remarkable assigned a team of 6 to work on this project with the lead taken by Sam Wilson.
The project had a number of elements including creating and implementing a full new warehouse management system to support the day to day operations such as, phone orders, stock control, order processing and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems. A fully responsive website with accessibility and optimisation for all device was created, working closely with the design department at Roman. The client’s new platform also now integrates with 3rd party channels such as eBay, Amazon UK, DE and FR. Lastly Remarkable integrated courier services and will be considering Collect+ to improve their next day delivery service in the next phase. Feefo reviews will also be to looked into to add a sense of trust and reliability through reviews of products.
The Remarkable team have thoroughly enjoyed this project, facing many new challenges along the way. Managing individual requirements and specifications from separate departments were amongst the few of the obstacles the team faced. However the team have overcome these challenges, which will better equip them for future projects.

We can already see the growth for the new site with a healthy 30% revenue increase within the first month from last year. A lower bounce rate and higher average time spent on site has also been seen, showing the site is attracting a more relevant customer audience. In addition Romans have seen a 20% increase in pageviews from the previous month and a 16% increase in traffic than the same period in 2015. Overall on-site behaviour is performing well across all devices, so it safe to say the audience are responding well to the new platform.

With the project plan filled for the next several months, Remarkable are looking forward to continued growth with Roman and are elated with the success of the relaunch to date.
